Conservatorships and Guardianships
Parents of minor children should make sure to have someone named to take over the care of their children (a Guardian) in the event that something happens to the child’s parent or parents. If something happens to the parents of a minor child, the person who will care and provide for the child needs to be appointed by a Probate Court. That appointment will be made much easier and quicker, and avoid potential conflicts, if the parents prepared a Will containing provisions for the appointment of their chosen Guardian.
Along with the designation of a potential Guardian for your child or children, we will also work with you to develop the tools necessary to provide the financial resources to help support your child. This would typically consist of a trust for the benefit of your child or children.
